When the fall comes...

Hola hola,

Everything is still ok for us at Hanover where it is quite warm actually!

Last week was particularly hot, Aure got his first exam (3h) - already! - brunch for me at Lou's and a session of picking apples organised by the Tiny Tuckies community. With an average of temperature of 26°c last week was quite soft. Chloé and myself were quite busybusy between new people, going out, school (she loves it so much!). Saturday night we even made a frenchy crepe diner at home! Our little Miss did request for it - doubly approuved by his daddy (and her mummy too yamee!). Ah and sunday i went to my first session of the gourmet club... but i was quite desapointed... probably as i am french i was expecting something different... nevertheless it was good to be there. The theme was "apetizer" which can be resume as a starter or a kind of big aperitif. I did make some good "tartines" (i do not like to translate it as sandwich... probably again because i am... french!). I made some "rillettes of sardines and sweet pepper" on large bits of bread (real bread...) to share. Everybody did bring his own dish... we were about 30 people to have cooked for 20! Too much foooooddd! - too much for the eyes which speak to my pregnant stomach. I think that my expectations were a little bit too high : meeting new people right, but mainly share some ideas and tips on international cooking or traditions. But no. A quick turn around the table to give your name and the name of your dish - nothing else! No explanation on the dish, its recipe, its origins etc... Nothing... And as the 2nd year were mainly staying together - what a shame - it was a "flop" but i ll give them another chance. The 2nd session is in about a month on the theme of the fall - recipes mainly on pumpkins for me

This week... is still very warm even tough if there was a little storm - which did refresh and clear out a bit the sky.
And it was the jam week : of pears and banana-oranges. Yamee!

Tuesday we went together with Meike to have a look at the skating rink at Sachem which belongs to... Dartmouth (as nearly everything here!). Chloé saw the ice rink and the ice skating shoes for her first time - we just stayed there for about 15 min but it was enough for her to like it and to say "tomorrow we go and buy this and this and this" pointing the ice figure-skater exercing on the rink (girls!). Since she mention it quite often as we pass in front each day leaving Sachem Circle...

Wednesday Chloé went with her school to apple picking at the same place we went the previous week. She know the farm very well. She mentioned that "at the rawsberry field i drank some cider" cute!. At the evening i was invited by the school to a special open evening shopping at the rugged bear - clothes shop for kids. 10% off and 10% reversed to Chloé's Hanover Nursery School - nice. There was even some cakes and juices for us. I spent a little bit too much i expected - and for the new baby also - but still reasonable.

Thursday we had a french tea-time with Alice and Virginie at Sachem. They brought her back our DVD of Cinderella inDvix and so Chloé who was unable to watch it for at least 2 months was simply delighted.

Today friday no school for Chloé and Auré was starting later on. We had all a good night of sleep. Yeppee!

Tomorrow a small barbecue with a meeting session are organised by Merril Lynch followed by an american football game... Yipi Youp!
